Ha. Thanks to those who were able to make it to the House-Sitting Party, youse guys was lots of fun. And thanks to Sean & Jussi for the amazing Robert Palmer Party, which was Xtra-Super Fun. Everyone else looking forward to another super-full weekend of fun and delight? I just left my info with the folks at The Common Ground in hopes that I can place my new DJ night there. Its called "Videodrome", and it will rule. Where else will you be able to boogie to "Ebony Eyes" AND Scissor Sisters??? I mean, besides the "Bob Welch Party" that I've heard rumours of. I need a place with a lot of TV screens. The vast video archive will play a major part in the whole affair. Any tips on possible locations are welcome - CG is my first choice, but having other options to consider is always good. Just think of it...I'll eq the system so it sounds good! And never too loud!!! In other news, I've been prepping and mixing material to distribute to the other folks in the band so we can get a set ready to unleash on the Boston public within a few months. It will be a good time, and I'm rather excited. Tags: craig, dj, friends, party, robert palmer, video Current Location: home Current Mood: energetic

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7415495.stmI know this fella wouldn't have gone to Egypt much if it was like that in his day. For those unfamiliar, Oliver Reed was a legendary British drunk, the type they don't really make anymore - today's Winehouse\Doherty set don't have a fraction of the panache. Of course, theatrical drunks will always trump unwashed junkies. Winehouse was recently spotted wearing what appeared to be diapers under her skirt. That's not fun. Neither was that horrid video of Doherty shooting up, then squirting the camera with the blood from his freshly-used syringe. Reed, however, always entertained. Here he is on Carson, promoting "Burnt Offerings": As the drinking got worse, so did his televised behaviour. Not to mention his clothing. Oliver Reed Is A Special Kind Of Difficult With David Letterman, 1987 (Sadly, this clip is a bit chopped up) And then it simply gets sad. Real sad. Even he knows it, which is painfully clear at the 5:31 mark of this clip: Part 2: For a more complete picture, watch "The Real Oliver Reed", a terrific documentary from 2005: There's a new book coming out soon as well: Tags: aspel, books, british, ken russell, letterman, oliver reed, talk show

I know how you feel - constantly on the hunt for an in-depth profile of your new favorite graphic designer, wading through rivers of hyperbole only to drown in oceans of disappointment, desperate for that one lonesome lifeboat of truth and illumination to come along and make it all worthwhile. Let's face it - that's a ridiculous way to introduce this snazzy interview the folks at The Crew Design did with Blythe, but I suspect that while most of us wouldn't want to admit it, the scenario outlined above is closer to the truth than fiction. We'll keep it between us. Meanwhile, enjoy the interview: http://thecrewdesign.blogspot.com/2008/04/interview-with-blythe-russo.htmlHer site: http://blythedesign.net/http://www.blythedesign.net/Covers/VisualCV.html Tags: blythe russo, danger, excitement, graphic design, interview, profile, thrills
